The 4-cylinder option is a 2.0L turbocharged unit that makes 245 hp, more than enough for most drivers while maintaining a respectable 31 highway mpg. For those looking for even more efficiency, a hybrid powertrain is available that pushes a very impressive 40 combined mpg.
The optional engine is a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 with direct injection. In its basic guise it makes 350 hp, enough to make the MKZ quite quick. If a buyer should opt for all-wheel drive in conjunction with the V6, they will be treated to an extra 50 hp, bringing the grand total up to 400 hp.
